Day 1 – Vientiane ArrivalOn arrival in Vientiane, you will be welcomed a by local tour guide of Laos Travel and transfer to your hotel in the country’s charming capital, with its laidback riverside ambience, and alluring monuments. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk around the hotel area or walk along the riverbank area where you could view the sinking sun over the Mekong.

Day 3 – Vientiane-Luang PrabangThis morning take a short flight from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. This former royal capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to colonial era buildings, tranquil tree-lined avenues and genteel people. This afternoon is at leisure to explore this striking city situated on a peninsula formed by the confluence of two rivers.

Visit the gilded halls of temples such as Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun and walk through the historic former Royal Palace and explore the diverse cultures and traditions of Laos' hill tribes at the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre.

As the procession of saffron robed monks passes by, people place a small serving of fresh sticky rice into their bowls. Making an alms offering is a deeply spiritual part of everyday life for the people of Laos and no stay in Luang Prabang would be complete without experiencing this solemn act.
After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a two-hour boat trip up the Mekong River, passing many small villages with women panning for gold and children playing on the banks, to the limestone caves at Pak Ou. For hundreds of years devotees have made pilgrimages to the caves to deposit their own Buddha images. On the return journey, stop for a short while in one of the whiskey and weaving villages. For centuries these villagers along the river's banks have made a living by trading hand-woven cloth and stoneware jars, and more recently for brewing a particularly strong rice whisky called "lao-lao".

Day 6 - Luang PrabangToday explore the Luang Prabang countryside with visits to beautiful waterfalls and ethnic minority villages. Gain valuable insight in to the unique cultures and traditions of Laos' hill tribe people, swim in the turquoise waters of Kuang Si Waterfalls and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in the tranquil surroundings, the perfect way to experience rural Laos.
