  1. Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival.

    Welcome to Luang Prabang, profoundly influenced by the French, unquestionably earns the title of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, this exquisite town in Laos is not to be missed under any circumstances. Situated on the peninsula formed by the Mekong and the Nam Khan River, Luang Prabang is a perfect spot to unwind, eat good food and enjoy the scenery. This relatively small, palm fringed place is packed with fabulous colonial villas, top class restaurants, coffee shops and stunning Buddhist temples. It’s a perfect destination if you are in the process of deciding where to travel in Laos.
    Meet you guide and be transferred to hotel for check in (check in time from 14:00). Rest of the day is free at leisure.

  2. Day 2: Luang Prabang – City Tour.

    Today we take a trip around the ancient city to visit the most highlights. We begin with Royal Palace Museum, was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. Continue our trip to Wat Mai, the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang. Then head to the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong Representative of classic Laotian architecture. We move to unique Wat Visoun, entirely rebuilt after its destruction in 1887 by the invading Black Flags from southern China. In the courtyard of Wat Visoun stands the Watermelon Stupa, which is shaped like the fruit it takes its name from.
    In the afternoon we stop at excellent Arts and Ethnology Center which will give you further insight into the ethnic mix and culture of Laos. Drive to Ban Xang Khong where the Lue peoples of this village are noted in particular for Saa paper, which is paper made from fast-growing mulberry bark naturally shed by the tree. The paper is beautiful and durable, made into notebooks, scrapbooks, gift bags, cards, lanterns, fans, boxes and art with designs painted in gold. Later that day, we adjourn to the Phousi hill to enjoy the marvelous panoramic views of the town at sunset.

  3. Day 3: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si waterfall.

    We begin our trip with Ock Pop Tok craft living center overlooking the Mekong river, set in a tropical Mekong garden. Meaning “east meets west”, Ock Pop Tok brings the fascinating world of traditional Lao handicrafts alive for visitors. Continue our trip to the morning Phosi Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weaving.
    Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will take soft trek to visit the Ban Ouay, Hmong Hill tribe and Ban Ou, Lowland Lao. Continue driving to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can splash around in the pools or walk along the forest paths. You are free to visit the Bear Rescue Centre which relies solely on partners, corporate sponsors and donations from the public. Buying T shirt or other merchandise is highly recommended to fund this preservation. Back to the old town.

  4. Day 4: Luang Prabang – Kamu Lodge (SIC).

    Our driver will take you to pier. Board on a traditional Long River boat at Kamu Lodge pier at 08:30am and take a leisurely cruise upstream while enjoying the refreshment served on the boat.
    Marvel at the thousands of gold Buddha statues placed in sacred Pak Ou caves by devotees. Most people failed to marvel at Pak Ou towering limestone cliff.
    Continue upriver and you would reach Kamu Lodge around noon. A Refreshing welcome drink is served. You can check into your tents with attached modern bathroom amenities and facilities. You will enjoy lunch in an airy SALA settled in the middle of rice paddy fields.
    After lunch, you can choose to either relax or to enjoy the traditional Kamu lifestyles and activities such as rice planting and harvesting in surrounding rice fields, gold panning in the Mekong (anything you find is Yours!), traditional fishing techniques (you can sample your catch for dinner!), visit of the Kamu village, archery contest.
    Dinner is a feast by Kamu tribe standard. We want you to see the world from the Kamu’s eyes. After dinner, retire to your tent.

  5. Day 5: Kamu Lodge – Trekking (SIC).

    After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to go for a 4-hours trek in the surrounding forest to the waterfall (trekking grade: moderate/challenging). You will enjoy a picnic lunch to the waterfall. On your way back to the lodge, you will visit one village along the Mekong River.
    In the afternoon, you will have time to relax enjoying leisure activities available on site such as bathe in the Mekong, one hour Lao traditional massage, “petanque” contest.
    Dinner is served at the restaurant. After Dinner, you can retire to your tent.
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
    Accommodation: Kamu Lodge.

  6. Day 6: Kamu Lodge – Luang Prabang – Nong Khiaw.

    After breakfast and lunch you will board around 02:00pm for the cruise back to Luang Prabang. Our car will wait you at pier for transfer to Nong Khiaw (4-5 hours), also spelt Nong Kiaow and Nong Kiau) is a little piece of paradise on the Nam Ou River. Used as a stepping-stone for further exploration, Nong Khiaw gives a great introduction to the idealistic atmosphere of Northern Laos. Arrive, check in hotel and relax.

  7. Day 7: Nong Khiaw – Ban Houy Hoy – Muang Ngoi – Ban Sop Jam.

    We take a cruise to Muang Ngoi, an idyllic riverside towns setting on the bank of Nam Ou river. Along the way we stop at the ethnic Khmu village of Houy Hoy, here we spend some time to look around the village and see how the Khmu people go about their everyday tasks. We actually pass straight through Muang Ngoi at first and pay the village of Ban Sop Jam a visit. This village is famous for its traditional Lao silk and cotton weaving, here you can purchase some beautiful textiles if you wish.
    After spending some time in the village we turn around and return back downstream to Muang Ngoi. Upon arrival we take some time to have a break and a coffee before heading off on a small trek which takes us through some gorgeous scenery consisting of limestone cliffs, mountains and rice paddy fields. Back to Nong Khiaw for overnight.

  8. Day 8: Nong Khiaw – Trekking 100 Waterfall – Luang Prabang.

    We’ll start the day with a boat ride on the Nam Ou river to a small village where you can learn about the way of life along this river. Then we’ll trek through small streams and rice paddies to reach the base of the 100 waterfalls. The next few hours you will see only water and jungle and hear the sound of clear waterfall cascades. The pools around you are very inviting for a refreshing splash. Your guide will lead you through the cascades and prepare a local style lunch on the falls in the middle of it all. Then we’ll take a small villagers’ trail from the top of the falls back down into the valley; along the way, you’ll take in views of the landscapes of the Nam Ou valley. Hiking back to the village, we’ll have more time to observe the daily life here before heading back back by a small boat to Nong Khiaw. Later of this day, transfer back to Luang Prabang.

  9. Day 9: Luang Prabang Departure.

    Have breakfast at the hotel then enjoy free time before driving to the airport to catch your departure flight home.
