  1. Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival.

    Welcome to Luang Prabang, profoundly influenced by the French, unquestionably earns the title of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, this exquisite town in Laos is not to be missed under any circumstances. Situated on the peninsula formed by the Mekong and the Nam Khan River, Luang Prabang is a perfect spot to unwind, eat good food and enjoy the scenery. This relatively small, palm fringed place is packed with fabulous colonial villas, top class restaurants, coffee shops and stunning Buddhist temples. It’s a perfect destination if you are in the process of deciding where to travel in Laos.
    Meet you guide and be transferred to hotel for check in (check in time from 14:00). Rest of the day is free at leisure.

  2. Day 2: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – City Tour.

    Take a morning cruise along the Mekong River, about two hours upstream from the center of Luang Prabang, and discover the numerous Buddha images at Pak Ou Caves. Pak Ou (mouth of the Ou river) includes the Tham Ting (lower cave) and the Tham Theung (upper cave) are caves overlooking the founder name Mekong River. They are a group of caves on the right side of the Mekong River. It is then only a short distance from the caves to the village of Ban Xang Hai to learn about Lau Lao (Lao whisky) and Lau Hai (Lao wine).
    Move to Ban Xang Khong where the Lue peoples of this village are noted in particular for Saa paper, which is paper made from fast-growing mulberry bark naturally shed by the tree. The paper is beautiful and durable, made into notebooks, scrapbooks, gift bags, cards, lanterns, fans, boxes and art with designs painted in gold.
    In the afternoon we visit Royal Palace Museum, was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. Continue our trip to Wat Mai, the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang. Then head to the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong – Representative of classic Laotian architecture.

  3. Day 3: Luang Prabang – Khuang Si Waterfall.

    This morning you will wake up early (05:30 AM) and take participate in the daily early morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice. Back to hotel for breakfast.
    Then we enjoy a short visit through the Luang Prabang countryside. On the way you pass through beautiful scenery and rural landscapes with rice terraces and pineapple fields. You visit Ban Long Lao, a local H'mong village where the culture, customs and language are all different to mainstream Laos. Your trek starts from the H'mong village and takes two and a half hours through primary forest and jungle on the way visit the Hermit cave and refreshment at the spring before reaching the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfall. You are free to visit the Bear Rescue Centre which relies solely on partners, corporate sponsors and donations from the public. Buying T-shirt or other merchandise is highly recommended to fund this preservation. Afterwards you return to Luang Prabang in time to catch the sun setting over the Mekong.

  4. Day 4: Luang Prabang – Fly to Vientiane.

    Transfer to airport for flight to Vientiane, Laos’ capital, an old French colonial trading post. This city is both abundant in French architecture as well as beautiful, ornate Buddhist temples. Even though it is the country’s largest city, it has not lost its friendly and laid back character.
    We have a day to explore Vientiane – the charming and fascinating capital of Laos, one of the classic Indochinese cities which conjure up exotic images, with its intriguing mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, American and Soviet influences. Our visit will take you to the key sites: Wat Sisaket the city ‘s oldest surviving temple with thousands of silver and porcelain images in the gloriously authentic temple compound that offers you a glimpse into the Vientiane of the past, the next stop is Haw Phra Kaeo. This large temple is beautiful both interior and exterior, it was built to house the famed Emerald Buddha in courtyards filled with frangipani trees. Next is the visit Pha That Luang, the giant golden stupa is a sight to see as the bright gold holds a sharp contrast to the pure blue sky. Then you will go to climb the Arc De Triomphe of Laos, Patuxai. The massive arch has a beautiful mosaic tiled ceiling and once at the top you can see for miles around Vientiane.

  5. Day 5: Vientiane – Pakse – Champassak – Wat Phou (Wat Phou Cruise).

    Take an early morning flight to Pakse, on arrival our car will take you to meeting point for the Vat Phou cruise.
    09:30: We transfer you to our cruise boat via long tail riverboat, for your 2.5 hour journey to Champassak.
    12:00: Upon boarding at the Vat Phou boat, we help you to your cabins to unpack, before serving lunch on deck. All meals are included on the Vat Phou Mekong cruise and our galley produces the finest of Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai dishes, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented.
    14:30: The highlight of the afternoon is the Vat Phou ruins – The majestic pre-Angkorian 10th century temple complex and our boat’s namesake. You have time to visit the museum at the ruins site, walk up to the highest temple and take as many photos as you would like.
    17:00: As dusk falls, we transfer you back to the Vat Phou boat for a chance to enjoy the tropical sunset on the deck. Dinner is served on board, while the boat docks for the night alongside a remote Laotian village.
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
    Accommodation: Private cabin on board.

  6. Day 6: Huei Thamo – Oum Moung Temple – Khong Island (Wat Phou Cruise).

    07:00-10:30: Breakfast is on board as we set sail for the village of Tomo. This is a small village a few minutes away from the mysterious hidden forest temple of Oum Muong. Afterwards we rejoin the boat to continue our cruise southwards.
    12:30: Lunch is on the deck, while we leisurely sail closer to the wild paradise known as the 4,000 Islands All meals are included on the Vat Phou Mekong cruise and the galley produces the finest of Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai dishes, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented.
    16:30: Late afternoon we disembark from the boat to walk through Ban Deua Tia, a small Laotian Village where the traditional way of life has not changed in centuries, you will also visit the local school and share some time with the students. Our day’s cruise finishes at the most northern tip of Don Khong, the largest inhabited island in the river archipelago. After dinner, the evening is yours to relax and enjoy.

  7. Day 7: Ban Veuthong – The “Niagara of the East" – Xieng Di – Pakse (Wat Phou Cruise).

    07:00: While you have breakfast on the deck, the Vat Phou boat cruises down the Mekong to the small village of Ban Veuthong, where you board a small boat to meander among the 4,000 Islands to Khone Island. You will visit the old French railway, the French colonial house and walk across the bridge that links Khone and Det Islands.
    12:00: Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant on Don Khone Island along the banks of the river.
    13:00 - 16:30: This afternoon you will visit the Khone Phapheng waterfalls, the “Niagara of the East”. After your visit to Phapheng waterfall you will be transferred back to Pakse by bus. Check in hotel, rest of the day is free at leisure.

    Accommodation: Hotel in Pakse.

  8. Day 8: Pakse Departure.

    Have breakfast at the hotel then enjoy free time before driving to the airport to catch your departure flight home.
